Step 1
Tell me about your business
Your name, your website or Google Maps link, and what a customer would type to find you.
AI visibility, measured
More people now ask ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants where to eat, who to hire and what to do. Surfaced asks those assistants the questions your customers ask, counts how often your business is named, and shows you what to fix first. In plain English.
Why it matters
of consumers say they use ChatGPT or other AI tools to get local business recommendations. Source: BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey 2026. Self-reported.
An assistant doesn’t show ten blue links. It names a few businesses and skips the rest. A good website and strong reviews don’t guarantee you’re one of the few. The only way to know is to ask the assistants, and count.
How it works
Step 1
Your name, your website or Google Maps link, and what a customer would type to find you.
Step 2
I put your customers’ questions to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, several times each with live web search on, and count how often your business is named.
Step 3
A real count, who was named instead, the web pages the assistants read, and what to fix first.
What you get
Checked before you see it. If any answers were lost, or the raw text disagrees with the count, the report says so on page one. No quiet zeros.
A real result · identity removed
Asked in two languages: 15 customer questions, 3 AI platforms, 3 tries each.
1 of 270 answers named them
| Named most often (in Indonesian) | Times |
|---|---|
| Operator A | 29 |
| Operator B | 24 |
| Operator C | 21 |
| The agency | 1 |
The one mention was noise. It came from a general advice question, and asking it three more times produced no further mention. I reported it as noise, not visibility.
Not a Hawaiʻi business: it shows the method and what a result looks like. Name, website and competitors removed. Counts exactly as delivered.
Measured, not guessed
Most “AI SEO audits” look at your website and guess what an AI thinks. I put your customers’ questions to the assistants themselves and count what comes back.
Results are counts on a given day, like “12 of 180 answers.” AI answers change from run to run, so I ask each question several times and report the numbers as they are.
A zero is the most important number in a report, so it gets the strictest check. I check again before saying a business is missing.
I can’t promise an AI will recommend you; nobody can. I show you where you stand, who’s winning, and what to fix first.
Languages
I ask the questions in your customers’ own language, not translated afterward, and count the answers in each. Reports are written in English.
Visitors to Hawaiʻi don’t all ask the same way. Korean results cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity; Naver’s own AI isn’t measured.
Pricing
Prices are in US dollars.

About
I’m the owner of OBT Consultants, and I built Surfaced. I got curious about what AI assistants tell people about local businesses, noticed that some get named again and again and others hardly at all, and built a way to measure it.
Before this I spent years in Hawaiʻi as a building maintenance supervisor for the Department of Education, and I worked in real estate and small renovation jobs. I like practical problems and plain answers, and that’s how I write the reports.

Questions
It’s whether AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity name your business when someone asks for a recommendation. If you’re named, that customer hears about you. If you’re not, they hear about someone else.
Google shows a list of links. An AI assistant often gives one short answer and names a few businesses. Your Google ranking doesn’t tell you whether an assistant names you, so I ask the assistants directly and count.
The main ones: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, with live web search on, so the answers match what a customer would see. The list changes as the assistants do, and every report says exactly which were checked.
No, and be careful with anyone who says they can. I show you where you stand, who’s winning, and what to fix first. I report counts and tell you what a result can and can’t prove.
Your business name, your website or Google Maps link, and what a customer would type to find you.
Yes. No credit card and no obligation. If you want the full audit afterward it’s $300, paid when you order it. If it doesn’t show you something useful you didn’t already know, tell me within 7 days of getting your report and I’ll refund the full $300.
The free check: within 3 working days. The full audit: within 5 business days of payment.
My focus is Hawaiʻi’s local businesses, but the measurement works for local businesses anywhere.
I use it to run your check and reply to you. I don’t sell it or share it. Details are on the privacy page.
It’s free, it’s plain English, and there’s no obligation.
